Daniela, Tawna, and Samantha are in the library computer lab with me, we’re blogging and typing and researching, it’s fun. Molly and I went around to some stores today, bantering and stuff, it was fun. Kind of like an Edward random trip, but different, mostly because it was raining. (Oh my god, Dan just came in and said that I had a phone call in the office: it was my mother. She wanted me to do long-distance technical support IN THE COLLEGE OFFICE. I have said this a million times to her, and i will say it again; I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT YOUR COMPUTER. I CANNOT FIX IT IF I AM 3,000 MILES AWAY. Somehow she doesn’t understand this.) Anyway, after our little jaunt, Molly, Amy, and I went to Circle J for a layout meeting, we didn’t really get much accomplished, but we kind of made sure we were all on the same page. It was somewhat productive. I had sushi and chocolate cake, the combination gave me a glorious stomachache, but it was SO delicious. I love wasabi. But anyway, we came back, and I had to go to English. It was actually quite edifying. I saw Daniela after class, and we went to talk by the art building. She has some amazing ideas for the Drift, organizational things. She’s typing them up at the computer beside me.
Some of the good ideas I’ve heard so far from everyone:
- Deadlines that people actually need to follow
- Another member for the layout team
- A limit of two or three stories per reporter
-”Working schedules” for the Drift computer, i.e. each person signs up for a certain time period on a computer
- another one but I forgot it but it was cool
