Hello world, I’m bored and listening to ’80s pop. Jeff just IMed me, we’re talking. He’s talking to a cute boy. I wish I was talking to a cute boi. God, Elastica always reminds me of Taggart. It so sucks that I fell in love with Elastica at the same time that I started falling for Taggart. I want to buy an anti-static wrist strap thing to work on my computer with (a very inexpensive thing) but since I was trying to buy it on the Internet, it was all expensive with shipping. I’m going to go to the computer stores around here tomorrow and see if they have one. I’m sure they must–it’s a necessity. I mean, I could just keep touching the case every few minutes to re-ground myself, but that requires effort. And I don’t think we even need to get into the subject of lethargy. It’s only like four dollars, it shouldn’t put me too far off budget.
My new strategy regarding money is to leave a twenty-five dollar margin in my account, i.e. subtract $25 from all the money I have and have that total be my zero for balancing my checkbook. So as of now I have around $75 left. around $50 of that goes to gas, so I really only have around $25 for discretionary spending. around $5 is going for that grounding wrist thing, so I’m left with $20 and unlimited gas (well, at least until my next pay period. This is going to totally suck when I have to start paying my insurance, I’m going to have to spend like $75 a month…and like a shitload when I start my policy…like a hundred and something. Insurance sucks. But having a car so totally rocks. I have no money to get my oil changed this month. Eh, whaddaya gonna do. I use my computer all the time, I only use my car driving back and forth from town.
Mike Ovick was in the Drift office today doing some crap to one of the computers. Of course he wasn’t installing InDesign..that would be doing his job and helping us…but no, he has to go in here solely to run Windows Update on the damn computers. Fuck that. Install fucking InDesign and then fucking run Windows Update.
Oh, everyone was complaining about their checks today–”I got $300 taken out of my check!” I didn’t even make $300…god! I’ll take the check if you guys don’t want it. So ungrateful! But I guess I don’t do their jobs, so I don’t know anything. God I’m tired. I used algebra (the first time ever) to calculate their paychecks from the $300 comment, and I got that they made something like $2,500. May I retiterate: I’ll take their checks if they don’t want them. That would be my computer and then some. I’ve also made another vow, to buy either a CD burner or a light-up keyboard for my new computer with the money I have left over in my account at the end of the pay period. So I’m holding off on the home networking hardware, the light-up keyboard (which I was so tempted to buy today), and the light-up fan mouse. Well, I’m going to go see if there’s anything good on IFC.
