> Placebo - Something Rotten
> B-52s - Love Shack
> Placebo - 20th Century Boy
> Eve 6 - Nightmare
> Nine Inch Nails - Where Is Everybody?
> Vangelis - Love Theme (from Blade Runner)
> Kylie Minogue - Love at First Sight
> Juno Reactor - Mona Lisa Overdrive (from the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack)

I got my speakers today, I had to run home before Drama tonight to play with them. Since I don’t have a Creative sound card, I had to dink with it for a long while to get it to play on the back speakers and the front ones. I finally got The Matrix to play with both the back and front speakers, but I popped in Run Lola Run and it totally didn’t work. It was weird. It’s also hard to dink with it when you have to keep it at a low volume level so one’s dad won’t complain about it in the morning. I know from personal experience that he can sleep through a fire alarm (LITERALLY. I have two witnesses!), but for some reason I feel like I’m going to wake him up and he’ll yell at me.

I don’t know if I mentioned this, but I bought the novel Nausea by Jean-Paul Sartre and this cool movie called Thomas in Love that I will force Joe and Tawna to watch because it’s so cute and weird. I wonder how my loot is doing, I spent a bunch of money lately. Whoa, it still says I have $92.89. That is totally wrong. Maybe it’s right. Hmm. I’m going to see if Tawna and Joe want to come over tomorrow and watch a movie with my cool new speakers. Tomorrow morning will be the SHIZNITE because my dad won’t be here and I will be able to fuss with my speakers to my heart’s content and blast music and see how good they are. I just installed Winamp because I downloaded this stereo to 5.1 plugin for it (which I’m still not sure if it works), but I have to concede that Winamp is the shiznite. It’s all because of the visualizations. Winamp has by far the best visualizations. And my sexy video card can display anything that the software can throw at it, so that’s cool. I don’t know why, but I’m really tired. I need to go to sleep so I can get up relatively early tomorrow.

I’m not sure whether I mentioned this, but I’m doing my drama final project with Maggie. Amanda flaked on her, and I didn’t have a partner, so it just seemed logical. I’ve decided that we are going to recite parts of this play called Landscape. Waiting for Godot was my first choice (Actually it was Satre’s No Exit), but I realized that there were more characters than Vladmir and Estragon. I chose Landscape because there are just two characters, a man and a woman. Perfect. And it’s in our drama book too. We’re going to practice tomorrow. I checked out that surround sound plugin, what it does is it like, makes the audio move around the speakers, it would be SO COOL if it didn’t make the audio get all choppy and such. I’ll have to play with it tomorrow.

That vampire game thing that I’ve been downloading forever should be done tonight, but I’m going to leave it alone until I get back from work tomorrow. I don’t have time to fuck with it. Omg! I just remembered that last night Joe was telling me about this uber-sweet Chemical Brothers video, for the song Star Guitar. I’m totally downloading it. I love their videos, they won my heart with the video for “Let Forever Be.”

I think next time I see Joe I will implore him to download Folding@home and we can have a processor battle to the death. Man, it’s going to take forever for that video to finish. Oh well. I wish I could listen to my sweet stereo, but I can’t. Not until tomorrow. :( OMG! I should make a list of songs that I will play on my glorious stereo.

> Nine Inch Nails - Closer [well duh!]
> Voodoo & Serano - Blood Is Pumping
> Daft Punk - One More Time
> Marilyn Manson - Count To Six and Die (Infinite Vacuum of Space Encompassing)
> Ladytron - Playgirl or Blue Jeans
> Deftones - Change
> Placebo - English Summer Rain
> Justin Timberlake - Rock Your Body
> something by Orgy…maybe Pantomime or 107
> Massive Attack - Black Milk and maybe Angel
> New Order - Blue Monday
> Vengaboys - Boom Boom Boom Boom (I Want You In My Room)
> Bjork - Aurora
> OhGr - Earthworm

Gosh, I’m probably going to be very embarrassed by this list in the future…but hey, it’s good music. Well, at least they all test a different part of my system, Closer tests the subwoofer, Blue Monday tests the midranges, Aurora tests the higher ranges. And everything else just tests over all grooveitude. Yes, I just made up that word. It’s almost 1 a.m. I can make up words. Conflabulagation. Ha! I’m the only one in the world that will know what that means. I say that it means when you’re watching a show you hate but you’re too lazy to change the channel. Ha.

Okay, I should go to sleep before I get too loopy. Yes, it does get worse.

random trips!

I didn’t watch the videos, I just took the test. I thought I totally failed, but I got a B. I stayed for half of class, the second half we were going to watch some movie. Tawna and Joe were in the lounge, and I wanted to go do something, so I slipped out during the break. We decided to go to Brookings. We drove up and attempted to go to Fred Meyer’s but it was 9 p.m. and they were closed! So then we drove north and went to this rest stop thing and looked at these funny brochures. They had like, stainless steel bathrooms, it was trippy. Then it was cold so we made our way back to the car and drove south again. I stopped at the Circle K to get gas, and Joe got some snacks. I went to the branch of my bank up there to get cash because I wanted ice cream from Dairy Queen but they were totally closed, so we went and hung out at the harbor. It was REALLY cold. We drove back towards the shopping center across from the Apple Peddler, hoping to find some ice cream (we were craving it now) but we ended up going into Price ‘n Pride (some weird grocery store). Me and Joe got Pop Rocks, I got a Diet Coke and some clove flavored gum, Joe got a bag of salt and vinegar chips. They were yummilicious. I’d never had Pop Rocks before, so I tried them when we got back to the car and they were so crazy! I had too much fun. It was a party in my mouth. But anywho, we kept feeling like we were in this weird Langoliers version of Crescent City where there were no people. It was strange. After a while we got bored and ventured south. We wanted to go on an adventure so we turned onto this road that said “Winchuck - 9 Miles.” We were all “We will be the first people to ever go to Winchuck!” The road was long and windy and we went further and further and further (it seemed like forever), we kept seeing these gigantic rich people houses…it was so strange. At the very very end we came to a crossroads. The sign said:

“<---Ludlum House - 1 1/2 Mi."
“Winchuck Campground —>”

So we went to the campground. We got out and checked it out with the flashlight and it was SUCH a cool camp site, we walked down to the river and everything. We kept talking about how we were in the middle of nowhere and how it wouldn’t even be weird for some guy in a mask to start chasing us with a chainsaw. We piled back into the car and drove over to where the campsites were. We investigated them and they were such cool campsites, all big and spacious with big trees all around. So cool. There were even bathrooms. After that we drove back to where the sign was, and I was all “Should we go to the ‘Ludlum House’?” And we were all “Okay.” I was kind of freaked out because there was nowhere to turn around for the first like half-mile, and we kept scaring ourselves with scary music and tales of horror movies and such. There were SO many potholes. But we kept going and after what seemed like FOREVER (we were going about 10 m.p.h. the whole time), we finally got to the place. There was a host even, but it was dark and we couldn’t see the house. It said that you could rent the house by calling some number, and we wrote it down. Let’s see…it was 412-6000.

Significantly less freaked out, we drove all the way back to Hwy. 101. All of the sudden, we were back on familiar ground, and it just felt weird. Joe wanted to smoke, so I decided that we should go to the mouth of the Smith River, so we went there and Joe smoked and we looked at the beautiful ocean and I played with my flashlight like it was a lightsaber. Lucasfilms is totally going to sue me for saying that, but George Lucas can just suck it. But anyway, after that we drove back into town and I dropped everybody off. It was about 1 a.m. We’d had SUCH a fun time just hanging out and driving to unexplored places. We’ve decided to somehow rent the Ludlum House and camp there. We will have to call the number some time and see how much it is. And we’ll have to drive back there in the daytime to see what the darn house even looks like.

But yeah, when I got home I was kind of glad to see that my speakers weren’t there…because if they were, I would have totally had to stay up all night hooking them up and testing them out. So yay. I have my last midterm for English tomorrow, and I don’t think I’m going to do very good. One, I’m going to be exhausted from only getting five hours of sleep; two–I’m really not sure what we’re supposed to do. I will make myself go to Wal-Mart to buy pens for the occasion. I have no clue where the previous package of pens disappeared to. Perhaps they’re lost in my car somewhere. And I need to get water, and q-tips, and drano. Tomorrow will be a big day, but tonight was INCREDIBLY fun. I wish I’d brought the camera.
