God, today was SOOO hectic. But yesterday was fun. After Drama I had a talk with Molly about how we’re going to finish layout and what we need for the pages and everything, but then (as usually happens) we started talking about our favorite authors and we were talking about how much we both love Jean-Paul Sarte, it was so cool. But anyway, the freaking power went off today at work…like, not like the storm (that has been raging since yesterday) knocked down a power line, just the whole circuit for the news room went offline. It turns out that Mike had two giant space heaters plugged in to that circuit. But I rerouted the plugs and stuff so I got everybody’s computers running…I totally saved the day. Mike gave me a big handshake. Tawna was all “you should have done this” (she made the plugging-in motion and did the ‘duh!’ face). And for some reason it would have fit. Lol. They were having all kinds of problems with the distiller today, and OMG! Last night (I wasn’t there but Stacey told me) water started pouring out of the roof all over around Susan’s desk! It was crazy. That building is falling apart at the seams, there’s termite damage all over, the roof’s got holes in it, I really would not be surprised if the whole thing just caved in on itself. But preferably when I’m not there. I think that Bend (the main office) is being cheap. Stacey said that the last estimate that she got was still $33,000 over what the main office approved for the project. And there are problems with the press too. One day something really bad is going to happen and everything is just going to be too old to fix. And there just won’t be a paper. They need to buy a new press and rebuild that damn building before it collapses on us. Mostly on me…my desk is right in the corner with the termite damage. But, I digress.

My wrists are hurting. Time to switch to voice-recognition. OK, there we go. Well anyway, Matt C. talked to me today about his web site that he wants to build, we set up a time for Monday… well, we agreed on Monday. I’m still not quite sure about how that will work… am I going to go to his house? Wait…scratch that… go to both of the Matts’ house. That will be different. Oh, the coolest thing happened yesterday… me, Joe and Tawna went to Rite Aid and got bubblegum Pop Rocks. They were totally tastealicious. I find it incredibly funny that I keep adding all these non-words like tastealicious to my voice-recognition dictionary. But anyway, in the whole power out thing I missed meeting Ann at the college to practice our lines. I can’t believe I spaced that. Oh well. I will study my lines extra hard tonight and then we will practice tomorrow.

Tonight kinda sucked. Mr. Owen made us watch this retarded movie about the Civil War, and then he gave us this tiny 25 question test. Mind you, I’m not complaining about the test, but the movie bored me to death. Afterwards, I hung out with Tawna for a while. Steve was in there, he didn’t say anything. He seemed really tired. Or something. Then Samantha came in, I guess they didn’t have the writers group that night. She said some stuff to Tawna, mildly insulted her, then left. We were bored again. We were so bored and so tired that I was looking at the stuff in the vending machine and intentionally mispronouncing the names of those items so I could laugh at how ridiculous they sounded. Did I mention I was really tired?

Anyway, before my class we went to Safeway and got some food. To be more precise, we got bread. After we were done at the college we decided to go find Joe, we knew that he had been called to Pizza Hut for some meeting, so we checked there. No luck. We tried calling him from two payphones, but they were both busy. Then we went to the Drift office because we were sick of the payphones. After hanging around there for about a half-hour, Tawna finally got through the busy signal. Whoever answered said that he wasn’t there. We played computer games for a while, that I got even more tired so I went and dropped Tawna off and went home. On the way home I checked Pizza Hut. His car wasn’t there. But when I finally did get home, a really cool thing happened. Thomas in Love and Jean-Paul Sartre’s Nausea were here! Woot! I can’t wait to start reading Nausea. I totally had to change my shorts when I remembered I’d ordered that. It’s a raining really hard. This is a bastard of a storm. I don’t know if I blogged this, but the night that I wrote my research paper Kevin called me again. It was really pathetic. I dispensed with him quickly. You know, I really love buying myself things on Amazon.com and eBay. I have no boyfriend to buy me cute little presents, so I have to buy them for myself. At least I have a bad memory so I am always surprised by the cute things I buy for myself. You can always judge how well you know someone by the presents you get for them.

Well, not much to say… actually, I could probably bullshit for another few paragraphs, but I have my beautiful Nausea to read. I must read it. It calls to me. Oh, I can’t wait! Eek! Damn, I have to change my shorts again.
