back to summertime

I just bought the cutest shirt!

the shirt

Ladytron fucking rocks.

I have decided to only buy t-shirts on eBay until I leave Crescent city. That should keep my spending down. And greatly enlarge my wardrobe, which has been sorely lacking for years. I’m not really waiting for that guy to come online, but I sorta am. It would be cool to do something tomorrow instead of unpack. I will go to sleep at 12:30.

I’m so exhausted. My neck and my back hurt from all that driving. And it didn’t help that I went over to the theater after work to burn away all of my anxieties with Dance Dance Revolution. I hope to get to sleep early tonight.

One of my coworkers that I think is really really cool fell and got hurt today and I really wanted to do something like bring her chicken soup or something, but I just feel really weird because she’s a lot older than me. I guess whenever I think about reaching out to someone, I just stop for fear they’ll brush me aside. I’m 99% sure that it would have been weird.

Walking around this town doesn’t feel real anymore after all of the apartment searching in the sunlit downtown avenues lined with maple trees. I want to go back. And I will. Permanently.

I have been getting so many MySpace messages and such lately, it’s really strange. I guess I’m just not used to anything today, the day of jamais vu.

That guy from Brookings gets Wednesdays off so we might hang out, but only if we end up talking on instant message tonight. I hope Josh signs on so I can see whether that guy was really on his list or not.

I have been hearing about this thing that happened on the Fourth of July regarding this pastel art thing that Ben did. They swear up and down that the flag isn’t burning, but everyone that sees it seems to think it is. I guess I should stop by there tomorrow and check it out before I jump to conclusions. Me and Ben had quite a few conversations about politics, so I know what his message was, but I think he should have taken into consideration that probably 90% of the people viewing his work wouldn’t even know what a metaphor was, let alone how to interpret the symbols in a piece of art. Every college age person living here needs to realize that the average Crescent City-ite is basically a four-legged amoeba, interpreting everything they see only in the terms of the basic cable television shows they’ve watched in the last month.

Okay, must stop with my I hate Crescent City rant. I really should make a links bar with the blogs that I read. I’ve been meaning to do that for ever. But I probably won’t. That weekend of using computers without voice recognition and my ergonomic mouse killed my wrists.

I’m talking to Ripley online. He’s telling me this anecdote about his cat killing a mouse. I couldn’t be more entertained. Not if James Duval was giving me head. Really.

Yawn. I should call Joe. But I don’t think I would be able to carry on a conversation. I’m not really a somnambulist today, but I am in this weird mood where nothing seems real.

Me: so how are things going with Adrien?
Ripley: good i guess

Good. Just good. I’m really moved to call him Bagoas. And I think Darius would be an appropriate synonym for his keeper–I mean boyfriend. Oh yeah, there’s been something I’ve been meaning to say for months. The person that turned me on to the Scissor Sisters said that one of their favorites was “Mary” and I said that I didn’t really like ballads. But then I went home and listened to it and that is a really good song. Just wanted to throw that out there, ’cause every time I listen to the song I think to myself that I should blog about that.

Oh also I listened to Bjork’s Vespertine Album, and it was really cool. I was surprised how much I liked her shy, cute lyrics. I ended up listening to most of The Cure’s Galore, and never before had I heard such a collection of painfully boring maudlin ranting. Fucking uberyawn. There are some great songs on it like Just Like Heaven, Pictures of You, Close to Me and Lullaby that are orgasmic, but god…the songs that fail…they fail SO bad. Okay, I should stop ranting and attempt to sleep or read or something.

I just listened to my audioblog posts, and they were SO cool! I love listening to my ranting. The guy from MySpace gave me his AIM screen name and it seems very very familiar. It could have been on Josh’s buddy list. Hmm.

Anyway, the trip was really fun. I will go into more detail on the post where I post all the pictures and videos I took. So tired. I’m going to end up sitting here all night staring blankly at all the blogs I haven’t read. Must e-mail that one guy back and send a MySpace message to the cook guy. Then go to bed.

I’m going to be the walking dead at work tomorrow, I just know it.
