I’m off to hang out with Will and Kevin, just wanted to give a link to Will’s MySpace so you guys can be assured of his coolness.

Internet Crapsplorer

I just fixed a problem where the links and archives would display in this gigantic font in Internet Explorer…I really need to start looking at my blog in Explorer sometimes. *recoils from the evil of IE*

When you’re twenty-one, you’re no fun.

I’m starting to love Flickr. Before, I wasn’t so sure… but now I’m totally into it. I went through and added titles, tags, and descriptions to all the photos I just added. I love only having to click a few buttons and then all of my photos are immediately on the Internet. I paid for a pro membership because I knew that through the year I would use it enough to make it worth it and I totally am! It was only $20 too, and you can’t beat that price to have a complete, organized online archive of all your photos. Anyway, I’m quite jazzed about it. I was only at work for barely two hours today, and now I have nothing to do for the rest of the day. My room is spotless and my books haven’t arrived so I can’t do my homework.

I did talk to Brian today, though. His district manager was visiting that day, and he told me a bit more about some of his incompetent coworkers. This is going to be a strange relationship indeed, and I have to finally stop lying to myself and realize that this is a long-distance relationship.

So guess who called me last night? Royce. His weird creepy boyfriend (Edwin) who won’t let him talk to anybody is in jail, and I guess Royce is enjoying being free of his fetters. I would feel really strange hanging out with him though because I’ve had a crush on this guy for years and if something (sexual) happened I would feel terrible. I doubt any such milieu would present itself anyway, as Royce could write the book on being taciturn. I’ve been trying to psych myself up to go take a bike ride, but I feel incredibly lazy today. And last time I went it was so freezing cold I had to come home. I guess I can allow myself one day of complete laziness.

Oh! When I was talking to Brian today I told him I was going to take a whole bunch of pictures of him the next time we saw each other. He seemed a bit reluctant end made a comment about one time a few visits ago when I assured him that I would Photoshop out all of his imperfections. I guess that was insulting to him, but it made perfect sense to me. I mean, people don’t have things like zits or uneven skin tone or random shadows on them all the time — you only remember those things if they are preserved on film. What Photoshop does is allow you to remember the best of somebody. You could do a thousand shots in a studio on film and never correct the little problems that can be easily smoothed out and Photoshop. And especially when you are running through the house taking random photos it’s easy to get your lighting wrong or your exposure off because you’re not really paying attention. But when I look back, I want to remember how perfect the moment was, not how imperfect the lighting was. So if you’re reading this, Brian, I didn’t mean to insult you. You are incredibly cute. But preserving that cuteness through the lens of the camera can sometimes present challenges that only Photoshop can be a remedy for.

Anyway, now my every waking second is devoted to when my keyboard is going to arrive. I haven’t played music in so long, I’m jumping up and down with glee at the thought of being able to play again after so many years.

For those of you who don’t know, in high school I used to play the piano that my mother owned (not in band or anything, just in my spare time) and I really loved it. But when my mother sold the house and moved to New Jersey, we had to sell the piano and I haven’t played since. So yay! The first thing that I want to play on it is the melody line from “Seventeen” by Ladytron. Maybe I will even record my rendition and post it on here. That would be amusing. Anyway, it’s about 330 and I feel like going out and taking more photos before the good afternoon light goes away. I think I will go down to Pacific Shores and see what I can get.

Some new photos
