Cine. Replacements. Sonata. Out of shape.

> Tiga - Burning Down The House

I spent the last 30 minutes or so making a comprehensive list of all my favorite movies. It’s on my MySpace profile, if you feel an unquenchable lust to look it over.

earlier tonight I took one of the hard drives out of my computer and put it in my little aluminum enclosure I got. I was thinking it would act all weird and buggy because it’s not inside my computer, but it’s working amazingly. I’m not sure about the heat aspect though… the enclosure is warm to the touch. Does that mean my precious data is burning? I doubt it. And that drive is only like four or five months old anyway.

I get to train my temporary replacement at my job on Monday. I’m sort of hoping she is totally inept so I won’t fear for my job…but if she is, training her is going to be a total pain in the ass. I think I’m going to just sit her down and make her do my work. There really doesn’t seem to be any other way. Hm. I sent that random douche that bought my computer an e-mail yesterday, and he hasn’t responded yet. If I don’t hear anything by the time I get home from work tomorrow I’m relisting.

in other news, I finally completed playing that arrangement of Beethoven’s “Moonlight” Sonata. It was very beautiful, but I felt like some of the harmonies were off. I need to play the actual version of it, but to do that will need a music stand (it’s like five pages). Eh. Maybe when I’m not broke. I think of all that gas I wasted going to Eureka…that could’ve been the deference between a great new computer and a mediocre new computer. Oh well.

This afternoon I decided to go out and ride my bike on this trail near my house…I barely got to the trail before I had to stop and catch my breath. It was really embarrassing. I had no idea I was so out of shape. I think maybe I’m still sort of sick. The left side of my neck is all swollen. Is my tonsil going to explode?

I guess I will soon find out.

Time to put the clothes in the dryer and watch some Futurama.

M

I just watched M by Fritz Lang. I loved it! German expressionist films rock.

The use of sound…the cinematography… the philosophical message… it was incredible. If they can make a film like that in 1931, why do movies suck now?

Is it the corporate nature of the movie industry?

Is it the conservative political climate?

Tonight, I’m blaming Republicans.

There is no reason why we shouldn’t be making films on par with M. I’m going to go to Germany and resurrect Fritz Lang as a zombie. Maybe then we can have something intelligent on the damn screen.

Metropolis is now at the top of my Netflix queue.

#2 on my queue is Throne of Blood. Akira Kurosawa and Fritz Lang totally populate my undead fantasy posse.

My zip code is 400,772 digits into Pi. Another interesting/useless fact brought to you by this website.

Interesting. I’ve always believed that fonts are more important than what they say. Kind of that old 90% how you look, 10% what you say thing…

Take a look at this interesting article.
