I spent a good half-hour devising a great outfit, and I read one of the two chapters I need to read. Getting things done early rocks.
I hesitate to think of what piece of shit we will be watching tonight in Cinema. I will just have to grin and bear it, and remember the wonder of Metropolis. Oh yeah, I never talked about that. Well there was major drama going on with Amanda’s love life, but Sara and John and I had a great time watching Metropolis. It cost $200 million in today’s money to make, and after the first few scenes it was obvious why. Some of those shots… I have no idea how they did those effects without digital technology. It must’ve been painstaking.
I loved the style of the buildings and costumes… they were incredible. There were even two shots where breasts were clearly visible. In 1927! I just love those old mad scientist/zombie plots, with robots imitating humans… it really makes you think that science-fiction really hasn’t come very far. Damn, I just realized I set my big analog clock backwards instead of forwards. That is going to totally annoy me. I should stop the pendulum, but I think that would disrupt my schedule even more.
I have to leave in 10 minutes. Weird. It’s going to take awhile to get used to this daylight savings time thing. I feel like my outfit sucks. I should just change into something conservative and comfortable. I must go.
For some reason I always feel I need to dress up for my cinema class…probably a mental thing to disassociate myself from those cretins. Today I’m going all hardcore. Knee-high bondage boots and tight pants, oh yeah. I should take pictures.
I really want to wear my kilt, but it has stains and needs to be dry-cleaned. I wonder how expensive that is. Hmm.
Today I have been fooling around with this site called last.FM, which is supposed to give you personalized online radio. You install this plug-in that uploads what songs you listen to to their web site, and apparently they predict what stuff you will like. I set up a personalized station a very long time ago on launch.com, but totally abandoned it. Today, however, I wouldn’t mind hearing some new stuff… but I’m not going to let multinational corporations decide what I listen to.
You can check out my last.FM profile here. It will automatically update with whatever I’m listening to. I’m enjoying the novelty of it, but I haven’t actually listened to the station it created yet. There aren’t enough songs on my profile to adequately recommend things, but in a few days I think it will. Hopefully it will show me some cool new bands.
Here’s my recent track list:

From my psychology book:
“Young adults are more likely to have the time to devote to making and maintaining friendships. Later, the number of friends one has decreases, in part because of conflicting demands from work and family obligations. As people grow older, their number of friends diminishes further as a result of relocation, declining health, or death.”
Woo fucking hoo for getting old. Ick.
Don’t you love it when you show up to work only to find all your pens have been stolen off your desk? It’s the little things that drive me towards mass murder. :)
On the bright side, it’s sunny today! Well sort of. I saw a bit of blue sky a bit on my drive home, but it was enough.
And I got a new wrist brace. W00t.
I have so much to do today, I have to write a list.
Get new wrist brace
haggle with the people from the clinic (left a message)
Read two chapters of Psych. (starting right now…)
write my grandmama a letter
I guess that’s not too terrible a list of things to do. I should get started.
