Quartz Extreme

Oh my GAWD I love my Mac! I found this app that allows you to use OSX’s Quartz and Core Image rendering engines to use these Quartz Compositions as your desktop background. From the site: “Quartz Compositions are screensaver-like files that can include rich data sources and render them using all the features of Quartz Extreme and Core Image.”

This one shows LIVE-UPDATING views of Earth’s cloudcover from space! Your view slowly rotates around the planet. I’m in love with it! I downloaded a bunch of them and they look so amazing! If you don’t know, OSX is all vector-based, so everything can scale perfectly with no loss of quality. Everything just looks so damn slick! OSX (and this app by proxy) is SO cool!

Check out the application.

Check out the Quartz plugins.

Fixed car (almost!)

Fixed car!

If you click through the link, I added little notes on the photo showing all the things we replaced and how we did it. All I need is two new tires!

Aimless Del Norte ennui

Ennui — A. @ 2:04 am

After my class, me and Kevin went driving around CC aimlessly. After that he came over and we chatted and surfed the Net on my computer for a bit. All in all, it was a fun night. I got to dazzle some commoners with my DDR superiority and had a blueberry IZZE. All is right with the world.

I took a bunch of videos tonight that I hope to play around with in iMovie to create something cool with. That project will definitely have to wait, as tomorrow is the day of the rough-skinned newt (I have to get started on my Biology essay).
