Our building's mailbox in Germany had an open slot at the bottom which was supposed to be for a label reading "Deutsche Bundespost". The label was missing, though, exposing the bottom-half of the outgoing mailbox just wide enough for neighborhood kids to steal mail and stuff. Our best bet was to walk a block to the US Mailbox.
