So, what do you think of the new design?
I know…it’s a bit of a drastic change, but I was sick of the old layout. Weren’t you sick of it too? The new version of Wordpress broke the old theme, and I realized that I didn’t care enough about it to fix it.
Well, if you hate this one, I’m sorry…I’d like your feedback. I’m thinking of changing the color scheme of this one and I had a few others in mind, but I sort of like it. It’s very…organic.
And I absolutely LOVE the “pull” button at the top with access to the archives and links and good stuff. If you can’t see it or the site looks blown out, update your browser, or (preferably) use Firefox, which is one of the most standards-compliant browsers out there.
I invite you to check out the new about me, archives, and blogroll pages. I love them!
UPDATE: a few pages were broken, but I fixed them, and I also added a shiny “COMMENTS” link on the top of each post, something I didn’t notice was missing. Sorry if it was confusing on how to leave them…you guys are smart kids, so I don’t have to worry, but it’s easier now!
I only had to break the template like three times to get it to work :)

I already told you how I felt about the new design, and you got pissy saying it wasn’t “constructive criticism”…so then I told you constructively what was wrong with it, and you put me on block on AOL.
So beware people—if you have anything negative to say about the design, it’ll probably be deleted, since Arthur’s looking for more praise than feedback.
And the blogroll link in your main post goes to the archives, with the blogroll link under your pulltab going to a blank page.
Matthew, you were being extremely negative about everything we were talking about, not just that. I’m sick of you having nothing but negative things to say about everything. Calling me “melancholy” when we haven’t talked for a week…I’m just done.
Your blog might have the best design on the planet, but let’s face it, I don’t read your blog and never did.
I don’t have negative things to say about everything, and I don’t claim to have the best blog on the planet. I didn’t say my layout was great—in fact, just two days ago, I was planning on changing the layout to it as well, but couldn’t find one that I liked.
Trust me, I know you’re not a reader to my blog. You thought it lacked “content”, which is fine. I don’t recall blocking you after you had negative things to say about my blog, or about my lack of style or anything.
Please, please get over it. You’re going to do what you want to do, and I’m going to do what I want to do, and we don’t always have to agree on things. It’s not worth getting into a huge argument over something that’s so meaningless as to the style of a blog. You asked for my opinion, and I gave it, but I don’t expect you to agree with me.
And besides, it’s way too geeky to argue over a blog. We need to focus on hanging out more and you FINALLY meeting and interacting with Jim, rather than focusing on petty things that make us lame like arguing over the style of a website, m’kay?
Dude…you are obsessed with starting drama, and I’m not interested.
I LOVE the new look. I didn’t love the old look. Too . . . worldly (note the correctly used elipses with SPACES between them!). I love the color scheme and the design at the top.
Okay, well, there’s nothing I can say at the moment that’ll convince you otherwise. You’re hell-bent in your opinion. Why you’d ask someone for their opinion on something, and then get extremely offended when it turned out to be an opinion you weren’t prepraed for, I dunno. All I can say is, I hope when you do get over this very minute manner that you contact me in some way or another.
Changes can be good.
I like the analogous/tints of a limited color palette + neutrals. It’s easy on the eyes.
Maybe it’s my poorly calibrated monitor, but the comments and other things in that subtle warm gray color are a bit difficult to read. Subtle can be good, though.
Overall, I think the redesign is nice.
If you ever get free time . . . (ha) Adobe has a fun toy that lets you create color schemes on the web. http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/kuler/
It’s mesmerizing and very good at distracting one from math homework.
I’m sure you’ve heard of kuler, but I just thought I’d remind ya of it regardless.
