I had SUCH a fun night tonight! I was expecting it to blow, just because I’d been having a lot of fun lately and it was bound to end, but that wasn’t true at all!
John was being an insane asshole when I got home, so I ate, showered, washed my clothes, got dressed, and got the hell out of there. However, I did extensive work on the list of Earth: Final Conflict episodes on Wikipedia. I made screenshots and wrote episode info for the whole first season. I really like the first season, but the second season is having its moments. I love writing wikis. ‘Cause I know whoever goes to that site is going to be all “sweet, screencaps and descriptions of each episode!”
I drove downtown, and sent Annie a text asking if we were still on (we had all planned to go to Badlands tonight). She said that she was sick, and Megan and Steve said they were too busy. I was sort of bummed, so I decided to make a stop at Arden Fair to see what Christen was doing. All of my times I gamble that she’s going to be there, she usually is. There were a bunch of customers and we didn’t really get to talk, so I thought I’d leave and talk to her once she got off. I’m weird about coming to visit people at work…I’ve always worked office jobs where your friends can’t just pop in, so I’m really cautious. I drove downtown, with grave reservations about how the night was going to shape up with all my friends busy, but I was determined to have a good time.
Arriving downtown, I parked near True Love. I had this amazing outfit on: my tight black jeans, the hawt Jareth boots, and my white embossed collar shirt, vest, and skinny tie. I walked around for a while, not quite sure what to do, but decided on going to True Love to eat, because I was starving (John was on a “rampage,” as my grandma calls it, so I wasn’t able to raid the kitchen at the house). I got some vegan nachos and a yerba mate tea, but the new guy misheard me and I ended up getting some kind of mocha. The new guy is so cute I didn’t care. Very mid-90s industrial kid.
I staked out my spot on the patio in the back, nursing my mocha and nachos, texting Annie endlessly. I wasn’t feeling very good due to the canceled plans, but she totally pulled me out of my mood. I went and looked at myself in the full-length mirror in the True Love bathroom, and I looked damn good. I made up my mind to go to the club and to be the toast of the town. I walked down to Faces (I could have gone to Badlands, but I’m sure I would have seen Mark, and I didn’t want any drama) and paid my cover. The place was deserted, so I went up to the balcony and chain-fake-smoked while I texted Annie. It was really early still (nine or ten), so I hung out and waited for the crowd to arrive. Annie was totally prodding me via SMS to mingle and such, which I could never picture myself doing. However, once people started trickling out onto the dance floor, I went out there and had a great time. I had called Christen when I was out on the balcony and we were going to go do something, but she ended up not feeling like it (and the dance floor had just started happening then, so I didn’t want to leave either). We’re going to get together tomorrow.
This one girl complimented me on my boots (which, by the way, were a dream to dance in) and this other girl was making incomprehensible hand gestures to me while we danced for a bit. I made a point not to make eye contact or dance towards anyone…hookups are so 1981, but I did get some stares. I was dressed differently than anyone there, so I wasn’t sure if they were “ooh look at that boy, he is so damn hot” or “what the fuck is he wearing?” but you always have to err on the side of self-esteem. I didn’t even have a beer, and it was a wonderful night. I headed home at around midnight, and it was a nice night drive on Fair Oaks.
I noticed that they put in a new store in the old Ralph’s that me and Kelly used to always go to when we were growing up. It looks like some kind of health food store. I got home and John was snoring, as I had hoped.
I love nights with no drama. I was so Jareth the whole night. That was totally what my outfit looked like. Man, it’s nearly two-thirty. I need to get to bed.
PS: I finally downloaded the pictures from my phone and added them to the post below :)
