At the college today several of my colleagues debated how many of our students even knew who Kurt Vonnegut was. It’s scary. I took a poll: 3/4s of my students have NEVER played solitaire with actual cards!
BTW, I showed my speech class the two “Humps” videos today–it led to a great discussion of how well Alanis skewers the objectification of women in videos without ever saying a word. We are starting persuasive speeches–that’s why I showed them. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
