I miss youz patrick! We had too much fun.

I love you, New York, but you’re making me sleepy 0

I’ve been so busy this past week. Between work, seeing shows, meeting friends coming in from out of town it’s been a whirlwind of crazy fun.

I guess I’ll start with going to see The Drums at Don Hill’s. I love this song!

That day, I also saw a 500 days of Summer with Abishek, then we literature-geeked out at Barnes and Noble for a few hours.

The next day, I went to see Eraserhead, being shown as a midnight movie with Jason. Then we went over to my favorite restaurant for a snack, ended up not getting home until 4 a.m.

The next morning, I had to get up ridiculously early to meet the Italian girls at JFK. To complicate matters, Derek was also visiting (he couldn’t really give me advance notice because he was doing all this stuff involving his sister’s house). I got to the city on time, and instead of waiting for Derek because he was supposed to be arriving like an hour before the Italian girls showed up I just went straight out to JFK. It was about 40 minutes that we waited for them and I was starting to get really freaked out but then Mirina saw me.

I was so excited to see them, and we talked excitedly about mutual friends and such on the subway ride back to the city. I gave them MetroCards, the subway map, and accompanied them to their hotel.

After that, Derek and I were really hungry so we decided to get dinner at this vegan place (Derek is vegan so we ate in vegan/vegetarian restaurants like all weekend). We cruised up to the Apple store for him to see it and for him to book a hotel room, then went down to Times Square. It was pretty late at this time, so we went back to my favorite restaurant in the Village for a snack. The next morning, we had planned to go to the Museum of modern Art and also to take the ferry (Derek repairs ferries for a living, so I thought it would be fun), but we ended up not really having enough time to do either, since his plane left at five o’clock in the afternoon.

We did go down to the waterfront and walk around The South Street Seaport and Wall Street, which was nice. I accompanied him to JFK, we said our goodbyes, and I headed back into the city. How I love you, E train.

I forgot to mention that during our visit to Times Square it was raining so I went to the 24-hour Walgreens to get an umbrella. I didn’t know this, but apparently they sell gigantic stuffed tigers, and Derek felt compelled to buy one. So I was carrying around this gigantic tiger for the entire rest of the day after I got back from the airport. I got all kinds of responses… people were totally entranced by this thing.

I ended up meeting John for dinner, and he saw some of the funniest responses, as I had the tiger perched next to me on the booth seat.

I have a doctor’s appointment today (somehow I’m how I’m going to work in going to the gym before that), and then tonight I’m going to this short story slam and then on the ferry with the Italian girls.

I am so busy I don’t even know what to do, lol. Well, the first thing I did today was to put all my clothes in the washing machine without which I will do nothing else today because I’m completely out of clothes.

Sebastian and I were supposed to go see Bat for Lashes tomorrow, but he invited me without buying a ticket himself and they sold out… so I guess I’m going by myself. I just posted to ticket on craigslist…if I can get more than I spent on it, I’m selling it.

Well I should head down to the gym while my clothes are in the dryer (I’ve got to multitask as much as I can today to get everything done). I’m thinking of buying a camera before I go to Oklahoma to visit Patrick, but it seems like such a waste of money. I’m already in tons of debt from school, what’s another $200, right?

Oh, also, I got my dorm assignment and the check is supposed to be in the mail for my first semester. They seem to have accepted my vaccination paperwork, so it’s smooth sailing so far. All I have to do is get my books.

a weekend with my cousins 0

We went to the Children’s Museum in Paramus (a bit run-down), and to the pool two days. They had a blast.

Here’s Alexis, Nick, my mom, and my aunt Gail checking out our garden on the side of the house. Our eggplants are huge!
